MedievalMart did not begin in a glass office, a corporate room or a fancy studio. It began in a real Indian workshop—a raw, industrial space filled with the smell of metal, the echo of heavy machines, the sparks of grinding wheels and the craftsmanship of people who shape steel with their hands. We are located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, and from inside these unfinished brick walls and old machines, we create handcrafted medieval armor, Viking helmets, shields and historical replicas that travel from India to customers across the world. Our story is not the story of mass factories. It is the story of real work, real people, and real craftsmanship. At MedievalMart, every product begins as a plain sheet of metal and transforms into a piece of history through hard work, heat, hammering and passion.

Our workshop is not decorated—it is alive. When someone walks inside, they see old power hammers standing like giants, welding sparks lighting the floor, and shelves filled with helmets in different stages of creation. Tools lie everywhere because they are used every single day. Machines carry dust because we spend our time crafting, not polishing the workplace for photographs. This is our transparency. Every helmet, every shield, every arm guard you see in our store is made inside the very workshop shown in the images—by real Indian craftsmen whose skill has been built over years of dedication.

The process of making each medieval item is long and demanding. It starts with selecting the right steel sheet—checking the thickness, durability and flexibility required for that specific design. Once chosen, the metal enters the heavy cutting machines. Sparks fly, metal heats up, and each cut creates the shape of what will soon become a helmet or armor plate. But the real art begins after cutting—when shaping starts. Shaping is not mechanical; it is emotional. The metal is hammered repeatedly, heated, cooled, and hammered again until it forms the perfect curve, dome, bend or contour. Sometimes a single helmet takes hours of hand hammering. Machines cannot create these curves. Only human hands can.

After shaping comes riveting and joining. Rivets are not decorations in medieval armor—they are what give it life and strength. Our craftsmen attach every rivet one by one, aligning each curve so the structure becomes strong enough to survive impacts just like real historical armor. Welding, buffing, sanding and polishing follow, each stage requiring skill and patience. Finally, every piece is inspected, packed and prepared to travel internationally. When a customer receives a product from MedievalMart, they are not receiving a machine-made object—they are receiving hundreds of hammer strikes, hours of craftsmanship, and the combined effort of our entire workshop.

MedievalMart started as a small metalwork shop.

But soon, the team’s favorite hobby became crafting medieval items—
especially helmets and shields.

When the first Viking helmet was handmade,
everyone in the workshop felt something different.
